Gina Maida - 2019 OPAL Service Award Winner

Gina has made significant contributions to OPAL and the Ohio library community over the past 20 years. Her passion for libraries, books, and lifelong learning is evident through a career path as a book buyer and manager at an independent bookstore and a university bookstore, a sales representative for a major US publisher, a reference librarian for a county district library, and in her current role for the past nine years at an OPAL library.

Her nominator said, "her enthusiasm for and participation in educational opportunities at the community of interest level, in OPAL as a whole, and the Ohio Library Support Staff Institute (OLSSI) has been an encouragement for others. She is active and vocal in asking questions and sharing knowledge, and this has benefitted so many of us. She is a powerful force of positivity and collaboration within our COI and OPAL.”

Anytime your institution or OhioLINK adds or cancels a resource you'll need to check 3 things:

• Turn on or off in your EBSCOhost profile (Databases tab)

• Turn on or off in your EBSCO EDS profile (Databases tab)

• Select or deselect the resource/package from Holdings Manager

The recommended setting for EBSCOhost is for “new content automatically enabled” to be on.
In the EDS discovery layer it should be off (set to no)

If you are not getting search results from a particular resource, chances are it's not turned on in your profile. Current subscription information can be found under the Joint Subscriptions tab in the Members Guide on the website. You can also access OhioLINK eresource information on the Ostaff page.

WorldBook has run into unexpected access problems with their new links authenticating correctly to the Early Learning Database (Early Learning has replaced Early World of Learning). For now, libraries should continue to use the link for the Early World of Learning Product (https://www.worldbookonline.com/ewol/home), which should redirect. If this results in a login prompt, please email support@ohiolink.edu.
