Jill Morris is the Executive Director of the PALCI Consortium (Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.), made up of 70 academic and research libraries in PA, NY, NJ, and WV. For more than ten years, Jill has enjoyed working for large library consortia where her primary responsibilities have centered around collaborative program design and eResource licensing and negotiations. Jill became PALCI's Executive Director in January 2019, after previously serving as the organization's Senior Program Officer and Associate Director. At PALCI she leads and supports collections activities and community-driven initiatives, including affordable education programs, PA Digital, the Pennsylvania hub of the DPLA, and the E-ZBorrow service, an unmediated interlibrary loan program that serves 50+ institutions across the region. Prior to her time at PALCI, Jill was the Assistant Director and Interim Executive Director of the statewide NC LIVE consortium, supporting 200 public and academic libraries in North Carolina. Jill currently leads a number of cross-consortial open source and grant-funded projects, including the CC-PLUS initiative, funded by IMLS, to build a platform for the harvest, display and analysis of consortium eResource usage statistics, as well as Hyku for Consortia, a consortially-scaled institutional repository project, funded by IMLS. Jill received her MSLS from UNC Chapel Hill and holds a BA in History and Adolescent Education from SUNY Geneseo.
Mary Ellen Bates is the principal of Bates Information Services, supporting strategic business decisions and providing consulting services to the information industry. Prior to starting her business in 1991, Mary Ellen worked in special libraries for a dozen years after receiving her MLIS from the University of California Berkeley.
